I would love to share about Dennis Gillman, the Hand Reader who I met several years ago. It was the first time I met a real Hand Reader in my life. I am grateful that I can learn some wisdoms from him.

Dennis started reading for the first time in 1998 in Mexico. Until today, Dennis can’t remember how many people exactly that he read already. But for sure, he read thousand hands in India, China, and Burma, reached about at least two thousand hands in Thailand. Dennis also had travelled a lot to many other countries; India Nepal, Malayasia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Navajo, France, Spain and Portugal.

During his trips, he always tries went to every Palm reader that he could find to learn new things about palmistry. In Bali, he also tried to see Ketut Liyer, the palm reader who mentioned in Eat Pray and Loves novel/movie. Unfortunately he had not have chance meet Ketut in person, but he did read Ketut’s daughter hand. Ketut’s daughter were very surprise Dennis could read hers accurately. She said, her father could not read like that.

He read every book of palmistry. When he read hand in the early year, he never wastes any chance to get any hands on to read.

“Sometimes I had to buy them coffee so I could read their hands, “shared Dennis, remembering his past.

When we met, Dennis read my hand and palm for hours and showed some of his reading techniques. He applied some powder in order he able to read more details of line on my hand. He read each part of my fingers too. It’s very interesting. The unforgettable one is when he showed me how different fingers of someone who can cook well! Hahaha. Priceless lesson!

Some people were also wondering how I could read their palm. I can’t answer because I never learn. When I tried to read some palmistry book and practice it, it will make me got some confuse since it totally not the way I read. Indeed the questions which a bit annoying are about how I could read. “Did you join with any training?” “Are you channeling with spirits?” “What this and that line mean?”.

“The value is not about how to read the line. But it’s more about the "messages" that you give to people”, Dennis encouraging me. “A palmist is not a psychologist. We are there to point out what's going on and what people are avoiding. The cure is something even psychologists have a hard time with. But we can say there's a problem and listen. Let the person hear it out loud. Your job is to raise questions. See where someone is heading also to make sure their using all their tools not anger or jealously or negative thoughts. People want answers not more questions or possibilities but that's what we do. They are aimed in a certain direction and we can see it. We must be like a Grandma . Let it happen with love in our heart and try not to put "seeds" negative thoughts in someone's head. We will always say things that influence people right or wrongly and I hope I help people with the right choice for them. But you never really know. Palm reading is tough” Dennis shared his way how to share about unfortunate things to clients.

Yes, being palmist is never easy. Also when you do it out of your own country. Dennis has got kicked out of three countries (Indonesia, Burma and Malaysia) because reading issue. Maybe the worst one is that happened in Burma, he was being threatened by an Army General that he read. He sent 6 army guys to his room and asked him to leave the country maximum in 2 days. For some people, reading is scary one.

If you go to Chiang Mai, feel free to reach Dennis for a reading session or a cup of coffee. He is one of the “stars” there.
