I am sure for you who celebrate the Chinese or Lunar New Year, on this moment you might be had already start preparing some things for welcoming the Lunar New Year. I am excited to welcome the Lunar New Year too as for me every “new year” perspective from any culture is gives the same main message, it’s about symbol that we are headed to new chapter of our life and we are expecting for better things and there is always a new hope.

Regarding Chinese tradition, several days before Lunar New Year each family will do clean up on their place and neighborhood. Not only cleaning up, but also repairing some tools and house equipment which broken or need to be fixed. Some family possible will consider having renovation to their building/house or maybe doing simple things like repainting the wall or laundry/change the curtain. Well... Spider family should step aside because their nests "house" should be cleaned too!

House cleaning has the meaning to clean up "everything" also unfortunate things or bad luck from the house. This tradition marks the desire and prayer of the Chinese community to leave the bad things in previous year and welcoming a better future.

Another tradition to welcome the Lunar New Year is by putting in wise quotes on the right and the left side of door to remind us to always look forward and manifesting good thing. They also stay up all night on New Year’s Eve by spending the time together with the family. This signifies gratitude and prayers for their parents. Wow, a wonderful tradition, isn't it?

Several weeks ago I join with a class about manifesting positive things for next year (Fire Monkey year), at one healing center in Singapore. It was the second time I join the similar class about welcoming the Lunar New Year. The session was sharing about how to clear up the space and the Fengshui sectors on the house. Each year, the house has various sectors which represent good or bad energy. Fengshui gives a perspective of how to avoid the negativity and to maximize the positive things in a place or building.

But the very interesting message that I got from the session is that the facilitator, Brian Koh, he said we don’t to need be too worried or focus only about the Fengshui sectors in our house.

“Fengshui sectors are important but what is more important is to keep our minds and hearts clean, not easily provoked by negative things”, Brian Koh said.

Yes, our thought or mind is our biggest energy and also our biggest enemy then we have to be careful about what we are thinking and talking about.

So, beside cleaning the House, let's clean our hearts and mind too. A house which full of bad energy would be difficult to invite good things such like prosperity and abundance. Imagine the same thing for our body ... If we often think badly, then happiness and success will hardly come to us.

I think it's time for me to clean up my place too. I am using the diffuser with Lime essential oil as the most simple way that i can do to clear up the space. And I am starting arrange some new plans for "next year" as well. So excited.

Are you also ready to welcome the Fire Monkey Year?
